Pohutukawa Kindergarten has been amazing. Our son absolutely loved attending, and it has been a wonderful place for him to learn and grow. The teachers are caring, dedicated, and genuinely passionate about working with the children. They create engaging activities and provide plenty of fun experiences each day.

We’ve been a Pōhutukawa family for the last 12 years. All 4 of my children have thrived here and we were so sad to say goodbye when our son graduated off to school. I work in education and have been so very fussy about where I would send my children, choosing the right centre mattered enormously to me. Our daughter absolutely adores both the centre and the staff — and so do we! It has been such a wonderful start to her educational journey.

What stands out most is the way the teachers genuinely respond to each child’s ideas, emotions, and individual needs. There is also a real sense of care in the way the staff nurture creativity, curiosity, and a love of learning in the kids. The resourcing is also wonderful, with so many engaging experiences and materials for the children to explore. Our daughter comes home inspired and bursting with stories about her day and all the things she has been up to.

We chose Pohutukawa out of 12 others we visited. The moment we stepped into the kindy with Isla’s grandma, we realised that THIS is the centre we have been looking for 😊 A kindy that feels like home. Isla is very happy every time we pick her up which shows she is having a great time with her teachers.
