Over the past term, our focus on bucket filling and mathematics has brought so much joy and growth. Waitangi Day is a special day in Aotearoa and every year we like to share with the children the significance of it. We explain that it’s a day when we remember a very important agreement called Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi), which was signed a long time ago in 1840.

Term one was fun for our tamariki, making the most of the fine weather before Autumn swiftly kicked in with the rain, wind, cold and mud! We discovered new interests, friendships and developed new strengths, both individually and as a group.
Our programme is designed to support a wide range of foundational skills, including auditory and visual processing, physical movement, and an awareness of print and language. We aim to cultivate joyful, capable learners who are prepared for the next stage of their educational journey.
This term we have focussed on belonging, culture and community. We have celebrated our individuality, similarities and differences, through portraiture and family waka. We have explored Auckland through landmarks: the Sky Tower, Auckland Harbour Bridge and volcanic cones (Rangitoto).
