With so much to celebrate this term, we start with an exploration of Diwali and move to Grandparents Day before we wind up with Christmas. We are highlighting our self-care learning as we support children in their move to independence.
Term one was fun for our tamariki, making the most of the fine weather before Autumn swiftly kicked in with the rain, wind, cold and mud! We discovered new interests, friendships and developed new strengths, both individually and as a group.
Our programme is designed to support a wide range of foundational skills, including auditory and visual processing, physical movement, and an awareness of print and language. We aim to cultivate joyful, capable learners who are prepared for the next stage of their educational journey.
This term we have focussed on belonging, culture and community. We have celebrated our individuality, similarities and differences, through portraiture and family waka. We have explored Auckland through landmarks: the Sky Tower, Auckland Harbour Bridge and volcanic cones (Rangitoto).
As we focus on our individual planning for each child we acknowledge the partnership with families and how working together and understanding the aspirations whānau have for their child is linked to their values.
Tamariki/children are innately drawn to each other, enjoying learning how we can relate to each other and learn from one another.
